Perkenalkan nama gw Kahlia Vitraniza..

Yaaah untuk saat ini sih blog ini berfungsi sebagai sarana pada salah satu mata perkuliahan gw.. Karena skrg lg sibuk banget ngurusin segala tugas gw yang sangat amat banyak, jadi gw gak terlalu sering ngepost2 di blog ini..

Tapi walaupun begitu, post2 yang udah gw publish di blog ini sangat bermanfaat looh.. Pas gw nulis pos2 ini aja, banyak banget wawasan yang gw dapet.. Semoga kalian menikmati membaca post2 yang udah gw publish… Gw yakin banyak yang tdnya lo gatau atau gak ngeh, terus sekarang jadi tau dan ngerti deh..pokoknya bermanfaat banget deh.. IDEO Shopping Cart Job

Ok, we’ll start from “What is IDEO?”

IDEO, Inc. was founded in 1991 and is based in Palo Alto, California. It was known as IDEO Product Development, Inc. The company has locations in Palo Alto and San Francisco, California; Chicago, Illinois; Boston, Massachusetts; New York, New York; London, the United Kingdom; Munich, Germany; and Shanghai, China, as well as in Korea and Japan.

IDEO, Inc. is an incorporation that focuses in design consultancy, designs products, services, space, media, and software for organizations. Other than that, IDEO also focuses on various areas; experiences, design for communities, design for learning, environmental impact, food and beverage, going to market, healthy space, health and wellness, invention and engineering, innovation strategy, kid and play, media and entertainment, mobility, networked culture, retail and hospitality, social impact, and transformation design.

It’s very much if i mentioned one by one, the important thing is IDEO focuses on designing an innovation thinking and products.

The companies which IDEO has been handled on are Procter & Gamble, Pepsi-Cola, and Samsung. IDEO also played an important role in making Apple mouse, first laptop computer, Polaroid I-Zone instant camera, Palm V, soft-handled Gripper toothbrush for Oral-B, and so much more. From that generous great invention, IDEO has several time won the annual Industrial Design Excellence Awards in Business Week’s. It almost happened every year since 1991.

Once we know what IDEO it is, we continue to the IDEO shopping cart job..

One of IDEO project is designing the shopping cart. Watch this video about IDEO’s process in making shopping cart job:

If we look at the video, we know that each person have to give their own idea about the models. Then, they put the design in one huge whiteboard to make easier for them to generate a great and fantastic design. After that, they make a prototype from the chosen design. Finally, they agreed and succeeded to use the design and ready to launched.

Most Important Innovation For Me

Setelah membahas banyak hal mengenai inovasi-inovasi yang lahir dari perusahaan-perusahaan luar negeri yang sangat berguna bagi seluruh dunia.. Maka, saatnya gw berbagi cerita mengenai Inovasi Terpenting yang pernah ada di lingkungan sekitar gw, lebih tepatnya di Kampus gw……

Inovasi yang paling pentingnya adalah….

Terowongan ITB-Saraga

Ini nih buat lebih jelas lagi gimana bagian dalamnya…..

Kalo diliat-liat sih emang kayanya tuh gak ada spesial-spesialnya sama sekali..tapi kalo kalian tau apa fungsinya pasti kalian bakal kagum dengan adanya inovasi seperti ini di kampus.. Pertama kali gw masuk ITB atau biasanya disebut jaman TPB… hehehe tapi kalo di SBM sih sebutannya bukan jaman TPB tapi JAMAN BEBAS DARI HANTU TUGAS.. HAAHAHAHA

Oke balik lagi ke pembahasan awal, pada jaman tersebut, gw dapet pelajaran olah raga di…..

Sarana Olah Raga (SARAGA) ITB

Nah namanya juga anak baru, setelah olah raga dan sesegera mungkin balik ke SBM, gw lewat tanjakan SABUGA (Sasana Budaya Ganesha)..buseeet itu gak efisien banget deh mesti nanjak dan nyebrang jalan raya (hahaha… gak jalan raya juga sih) buat balik ke kampus. Tapi setelah gw mengenal Terowongan ini..

Semua terasa lebih dekat.. gw gak perlu nanjak lagi deh..tinggal masuk tuh terowongan sampe deh di ITB… Jadi, terowongan itu tuh letaknya dibawah jalan raya itu.. Yampuun efisien banget deh tuh terowongan.. bener-bener ngebantu anak-anak ITB buat mondar mandir SARAGA dan kampus..

Nah, karena sekarang gw udah tingkat 3. Terowongan itu tuh berubah fungsi di kehidupan gw.. Dulu, gw biasanya lewat terowongan itu kalo cuman mau olah raga.. Sekarang, hampir tiap hari gw lewat situ.. Soalnya parkir disitu murah sih..

Bayangin aja parkir di Odang (Odang itu penjaga area parkiran di belakang ITB.. parkiran itu bukan punya Odang sih..tp parkiran itu terkenal dengan sebutan itu) sekali masuk harus bayar 3000rupiah.. Coba deh dikali 5 hari kuliah, 5×3000= 15.000, bayangin aja gw mesti ngeluarin uang 15,000 seminggu buat markir.. Mahal Banget.. Belum lagi kalo gw telat terus buru-buru, pasti gak sempet kan buang waktu nyari parkiran (Mana medan area parkirnya luar biasa banget, cocok deh buat orang yang mau belajar jadi pemarkir handal), otomatis gw vallet aja kan… Nah, valletnya ituloh harganya tuh 7.000 sekali masuk. kalo dikali 5 hari 35.000.. Gawat banget kan???

Solusinya…… ya mendingan parkir di SARAGA aja terus lewat terowongan itu deh..bayarnya cuman 1000 sekali masuk, seminggu 5.000..gw bisa menghemat 10.000 setiap harinya.. Mana lahan parkiran di SARAGA luas banget, gak bakal takut keabisan parkiran deh… Jadi gw tenang aja deh.. Yaaa konsekuensinya, gw harus datang lebih pagi karena jalan kaki dulu, kalo kata temen gw sih, Galuh, 1.000 langkah tuh dari parkiran sampe gedung SBM..

Banyak banget kan manfaatnya…. terutama buat gw, ini nih rincian manfaatnya:

  • Hidup lebih sehat
  • Dompet juga jauh lebih sehat
  • Tulang lebih kuat
  • Datang gak pernah telat
  • Otot betis semakin terlatih (gak perlu ngegym lagi..)

yaaah bener-bener cocoklah tuh parkiran murah berada di area SARAGA.. bener-bener buat badan gw lebih bugar.. jadi, gw gak perlu olahraga, cukup lewat terowongan itu aja tiap hari..hehehe

Open Innovation & Open Business

Kemarin, Pak Aurik mengajarkan sebuah bab yaitu  ”employee recruitment” di kelas Human Capital Management (HCM) – salah satu pelajaran R & D yang ada di tahun ke 3 SBM-ITB. Beliau menjelaskan tentang berbagai cara yang dapat dilakukan sebuah perusahaan untuk merekrut seseorang untuk menduduki sebuah jabatan.

Jadi, ada 2 cara employee recruitment; internal recruitment dan eksternal recruitment. Kedua cara tersebut menginspirasikan saya untuk menulis blog kali ini. Ternyata kedua cara tersebut berhubungan erat dengan open innovation. Kalian pernah mendengar dengan sebutan open innovation? Apa sih sebenernya open innovation? Banyak cerita-cerita mengenai sebuah perusahaan yang sadar akan pentingnya penerapan sistem Open Innovation di bisnis yang mereka jalankan.

Nah, oke, pertama, sebelum perusahaan mencapai pada tahap Open Innovation, perusahaan tersebut harus menggunakan Open Business Model pada bisnisnya. Apa sih Open Business Model?

Open Business Model  merupakan konsep bisnis dengan cara yang transparan serta mengikutsertakan masyarakat/pebisnis/publik untuk berkerjasama.

Beranjak dari Open Business Model, perusahaan sudah mulai berkenalan dengan dunia luar dan pemikiran-pemikiran dibalik itu. Dari sinilah Open Innovation akan terbentuk. Mari kita berkenalan terlebih dahulu, Open Innovation dipromosikan olehHenry William Chesbrough (2006), beliau adalah seorang professor dan executive direktur Pusat Open Innovation di Barkeley. Beliau juga mengarang sebuah buku yang berjudul Open Innovation: The new imperative for creating and profiting from technology. Pada buku tersebut ada sebuah prinsip “Open Innovation Principles“, yaitu:

  1. Not all the smart people work for us. We need to work with smart people inside and outside our company.
  2. External R&D can create significant value; internal R&D is needed to claim some portion of that value.
  3. We don’t have to originate the research to profit from it.
  4. Building a better business model is better than getting to market first.
  5. If we make the best use of internal and external ideas, we will win.
  6. We should profit from others’ use of our IP, and we should buy others’ IP whenever it advances our own business model.

Ini dia proses ketika Open Innovation dapat dikembangkan diperusahaan….

Garis merah menandakan batasan pengetahuan yang dimiliki perusahaan.

Bola biru menandakan pemikiran/ide.

Kalo kita hubungin sama pelajaran HCM yang gw dapet, maka bola biru yang berada di luar garis merah adalah external idea sedangkan yang didalem itu adalah karyawan perusahaan. Kalo kita perhatiin lebih detil lagi, ketika external idea (bola biru) masuk ke dalam perusahaan pada saat perusahaan tersebut melakukan penelitian/research, maka perusahaan dapat menghasilkan penemuan baru. Penemuan baru tersebut tidak hanya ditujukan untuk target pasar sebelumnya/current market, bahkan penemuan tersebut menciptakan target pasar baru/new market. Nah, ketika penemuan baru dapat membentuk pasar baru.. Maka disitulah terjadinya INOVASI BARU.

Dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan bantuan buah pikiran dari luar, perusahaan lebih memungkinkan bagi perusahaan untuk mendapatkan inovasi baru. Semakin banyak ilmu dan pemikiran, maka semakin banyak penemuan baru bagi perusahaan. Jadi kalo menurut gw,

Open Innovation itu ketika perusahaan mencoba untuk lebih terbuka pada masyarakat sekitarnya terutama dalam hal pemikiran/buah ide dari luar perusahaan dan dapat menghasilkan inovasi baru..

Sekarang banyak perusahaan-perusahaan Internasional yang menggunakan Open Innovation dan Open Business Model, tetapi sedikit perusahaan nasional yang menggunakan model tersebut..Contohnya perusahaan kosmetik:

L’oreal

Kenapa gw ambil contoh L’oreal? soalnya mereka menggunakan Sumber Daya Manusia luar (bukan karyawan L’oreal) untuk menyumbangkan ide mereka mengenai suatu produk yang baru dengan berkompetisi satu sama lain. Mereka mengajak seluruh mahasiswa di Universitas dan Institut di Asia untuk berkompetisi di ajang L’oreal Brandstorm Challenge.

Nah yang berhasil memenangkan kompetisi ini akan diberi penghargaan dan hadiah.

Sedangkan dari sisi perusahaan, dengan adanya kompetisi ini perusahaan tersebut akan mendapatkan ide yang fresh dari hasil pemikiran orang yang berada diluar perusahaan, tanpa harus takut mencuri ide.

Semakin banyaknya perusahaan nasional yang sukses, maka semakin besar kemungkinan negara Indonesia ini untuk maju..Saya sangat berharap perekonomian Indonesia ini semakin maju..

My name

Different PLANT species has a different name..

Different ANIMAL species has a different name..

Even different PARTICLE has a different name..

..Everything in this world must have a name..

Plant, animal, and particle basically are not the greatest creature that God has ever created, but indeed they need a name. So, can you imagine if people, the most perfect being, do not have a name? It’s so difficult, isn’t it? You just remember her/him with what he/she looks like.

“Hey..hey..you!! Yes you! You with oversized clothes and ugly!”

Hahaha… The example is actually too rude, but it may describe what world will be without name. However, we have to thank people at the past who brilliantly discovered the importance of a name. Okay it’s enough for the introduction. Now, i’ll start with describing what’s the meaning of my name..

My full name is Kahlia Vitraniza Azis. But when i was a child, my friends in the kindergarten and elementary school used to call me Nisa. After i graduated from elementary school, i continued to a higher grade, junior high school. I had so many friends there who were called nisa, just like me. Then i started to figure out another nickname which best suit in me. Think.. Think.. Think.. Taraaaa… i thought, “why dont i change my nickname into Kahlia? It’s pretty, unique, different and I like it”. Since then, all of my friends called me Kahlia. One problem’s done, then i faced a new one. Every person who acquainted with me, they simply said,

“Siapa?? Kalia? Kahlia? Apa tu artinya?”

I paused, then I said

“Hmmm..kasi tau gak ya? dulu ibu gw suka nonton telenovela dan nama salah satu nama pemeran favoritnya tu Talia. Yauda deh, Kahlia kan gak beda jauh tuh dari Talia..”

..tik..tok..tik..tok..

“HAHAHAHAHA”

They laughed out loud. Okay, enough with the telenovela thing, let me explain it further. My last name is Vitraniza. I was born on April 13, 1991, right on Ramadhan. Vitra came fromfitrah. In Arabian, Fitrah means moslems get back to sacred. Niza is also from Arabian language which means girl. So, Kahlia Vitraniza means a holy girl who born in Ramadhan named Kahlia.

From my explanation, you now know that a name is not just words. It is built with prayers, wishes, and hopes that come with one thing, words thats called name. A name can be the best way to describe someone’s personality, life history, or maybe where he/she comes from. Just like human, other creatures like plant, animal, or even particle need a name to diverse each kind to another. So,

Imagine what world would be without a name!!

Some people say, the older the age of a  nation, The easier they leave their culture behind…Actually, the best way to praise gratitudes and thanks to our nation and ancestors is by maintaining the culture itself. At the fact, they are still assuming that culture and modernization can not be run simultaneously. Perhaps they are just afraid of getting left behind in this Globalization Era… Well, it’s completely wrong!This is it! This is a country which culture is perfectly strong, but have a huge contributions in this globalization of the world.. 

Japan is one of few countries which completely show how there is still a big chance for culture to exist in this Globalization Era. Before we get further, lets start with learning their cultures

Geisha

Geisha, Geiko or Geigi are traditional japanese female who skills in performing Japanese art

Hiragana and Katakana

Samurai

Samurai is the term form for military nobility in pre-industrial Japan. Nowadays, Samurai is still known all over the world. The Last Samurai, starring Tom Cruise, is one of few films which shows how they struggle in the middle of the globalization to conserve their culture, their life as a samurai.

Architecture

Japanese architecture. Can be seen at temple, shinto shrines, and kestle.

Garden Architecture

Japanese garden architecture is influenced by historical of Japan and religion belief.

Why Apple Inc??

Reasons:

  1. 2009 – Business week has just published the survey of the most creative and innovative company. Apple was on the #1 rank, based on the survey of top executive by Boston Consulting Group.
  2. 2007 – Apple was awarded as the most creative and innovative product by BusinessWeek’s 2007 list of 50 companies. The survey questions include innovation metrics on process, product, and innovation business model. Apple had been awarded as the #1 innovative product in 4th year in a row!
Although there are still some similar type of surveys that i do not mention above (yet to be), I believe  that you’d still agree that Apple Inc. is a superior company in terms of creativity and innovation. In my opinion, a creative and innovative company citeria is only if the company can make a spectacular and breakthrough product. Not just a single type of product, but many kind type of products. Apple successfully meet customer needs, dreams, passions, and hopes.

Started from the prior and usual computer or commonly known as the Macintosh, Apple continued with camera, then ipod and macbook, iphone and finally ipad. None of it is disappointing. All of the Apple products bring prestige, satisfaction, and pride for all users. I think the primary key of the Apple success is always try to fulfill people’s dreams about an innovative product that sometimes too impossible to be made.

At the past, everytime i watched tv, I was always dreaming if the touch screen could actually be created in the real world. Finally, I am very grateful for the presence of itouch, iphone and ipad. Thank God Apple has perfectly answered my curiosity. Again, those facts prove how Apple deserve to be always on the  top eventhough not all of the statistics said the same. So dont hesitate to admitt, just wait and see whatelse they’re gonna shock you with!!
